I had a great time at Emerald City. It was the first time in awhile that I really enjoyed a con at that extent. I met a lot of artists for the first time and have a load of comics to get through. Here’s a pic of me and my best buds Patric Reynolds and Justin Markure at conveyer sushi one night.
Highlight of the trip, getting to play a ton of video games at Gameworks and whipping Justin in some Teekin Tag. I also got to walk around Pike Market everyday and explore Seattle a bit. I ended up at some place called Noc Noc one night but that's another story. I met too many writers and artists to name here including Emi Lennox, Joe Keatinge, Corey Lewis, and Shane Houghton. I’m really glad I scoped this con out, and I’ll definitely be going back. It reminded me a lot of Heroes Con. All the fans their seemed super informed about the comics and artists present. Here’s a cool photo the awesome Ed Peterson took of me at the Oni Booth.
And never forget Wook Jin Clark. He’s awesome. You can keep up with his progress on MegaGoGo here. I can’t wait for it to come out. We worked on this world puzzle for about 30 minutes in some Map Store downtown. I'd like to think the caption for the below pic goes a little something like this:
"We travel the world fighting crime and solving mysteries."
I’ve been pretty inspired ever since I came back from Seattle. I’m almost finished with pencils for SPKO 3 and then I’ll be inking through summer. The matches are insane! In an effort to not spoil too much, here’s a small panel from Butch O’ Rowdy vs. King Crown Jr.’s Heavyweight Championship match. I kinda' dig Crown Jr.'s weird mullet this volume.
