TWEETS
STORY

Joe Somiano risked it all by dropping out of college to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a pro wrestler, much to the disapproval of his father. King Crown Jr. is a second-generation pro-wrestler, and current Heavyweight Champion of Super Pro. K.O.!, that drinks more than he trains. Will Joe ever get a shot at wearing the SPKO Title? And will King Crown Jr. stay focused enough to defend the Championship  at any costs?

SPKO Desk Shot: El Heroe Panel in Progress

Sitting here inking El Heroe staring off at "something". He's rarely been caught off guard in SPKO up to this point. You'll just have to wait and see.

Then I just had to ink the rose pinned to his jacket and the checkerboard background.

I got a nice note from a reader who told me El Heroe was his favorite wrestler in SPKO. I should start keeping a tally. I think I've heard King Crown Jr. and The Other the most so far. El Heroe is definitely one of my favorites along with Joe Somiano, King Crown, Sensational Sike, and The Wildchilds. I don't know if I could just pick one.

Deconstructing Comics #315

I caught up with Tim Young on Deconstucting Comics recently along with my homeboy, Rashad Doucet . We used to review books with Tim way back in our college days so it was pretty cool catching up with him now that we're making more career strides. Check it out here.

Emerald City Comic Con Was Awesome!

I had a great time at Emerald City. It was the first time in awhile that I really enjoyed a con at that extent. I met a lot of artists for the first time and have a load of comics to get through. Here’s a pic of me and my best buds Patric Reynolds and Justin Markure at conveyer sushi one night.

Highlight of the trip, getting to play a ton of video games at Gameworks and whipping Justin in some Teekin Tag. I also got to walk around Pike Market everyday and explore Seattle a bit. I ended up at some place called Noc Noc one night but that's another story. I met too many writers and artists to name here including Emi Lennox, Joe Keatinge, Corey Lewis, and Shane Houghton. I’m really glad I scoped this con out, and I’ll definitely be going back. It reminded me a lot of Heroes Con. All the fans their seemed super informed about the comics and artists present.  Here’s a cool photo the awesome Ed Peterson took of me at the Oni Booth.

And never forget Wook Jin Clark. He’s awesome. You can keep up with his progress on MegaGoGo here. I can’t wait for it to come out. We worked on this world puzzle for about 30 minutes in some Map Store downtown. I'd like to think the caption for the below pic goes a little something like this:

"We travel the world fighting crime and solving mysteries."

I’ve been pretty inspired ever since I came back from Seattle. I’m almost finished with pencils for SPKO 3 and then I’ll be inking through summer. The matches are insane! In an effort to not spoil too much, here’s a small panel from Butch O’ Rowdy vs. King Crown Jr.’s Heavyweight Championship match. I kinda' dig Crown Jr.'s weird mullet this volume.

SPKO Business as Usual

Here’s the new business card for the 2012 con season. Just got a bunch in yesterday in time for Emerald City Comic Con this weekend! I'll be roaming the floor and signing at the Oni booth. If you want to see some cool SPKO 3 preview pages, I'll have them with me. I'll also have prints and mini's too.

The con swag is really starting to come together. I’m planning on having a new SPKO mini-comic and some other surprises at my table at Heroes Convention in Charlotte on June 22-24th. Can't wait!
